- Subscription 3 × $55 = $165
- Resolutions above allowance 75 × $1.50 = $112.50

Zendesk advertises a starting price per agent, but that's only part of the bill. On top of the subscription, you pay a fee for every conversation the AI resolves on its own. Below I run the numbers for teams of three, eight and twenty agents, with real figures. I won't skip the unpleasant surprises either.
Zendesk charges a subscription per agent, plus a fee for every conversation the AI agent handles on its own. So your monthly bill comes down to two things: how many agents you have and how much the AI resolves. The better the AI does its job, the bigger that second line.
Zendesk has two product lines: Support for tickets only, and Suite for every channel in one place. These are the prices per agent per month when billed annually.
Prices per agent per month billed annually, in dollars as Zendesk lists them. Monthly billing costs more. Checked on 15 July 2026. zendesk.com/pricing.
On top of the subscription, Zendesk charges for every conversation the AI resolves on its own. Here's how that works.
Suite Team includes five resolved AI conversations per agent per month. Professional includes ten, Enterprise fifteen. Anything above that goes on the bill.
That's what each resolved conversation above your allowance costs if you commit to a volume up front. Without a commitment it's around $2 per resolution. Zendesk doesn't publish this rate anywhere; it's the figure comparison sites keep quoting.
Since January 2026, anything above your committed volume is billed automatically. There's no approval step; the charge simply shows up on your invoice.
A conversation counts as resolved when the AI handles it and the customer doesn't come back with the same question.
Teams of three, eight and twenty agents, each with a realistic monthly volume. Zendesk on the Suite Team plan, next to the Sarrai plan that fits the same volume.
We assume the AI agent resolves 40 percent of conversations on its own. That's the number that moves the total the most, so further down you'll also see what happens at a lower or higher rate. We use Suite Team, the cheapest Suite plan with AI agents, and the committed rate per resolution.

Growth
Growth
Change that percentage and it's mostly the fee line that moves. For the team of eight, the monthly total then shifts from around $650 to $875.
At 1,500 conversations you're right at the ceiling of Growth. Keep growing past that and Pro is the next step, with room for up to 5,000 conversations per month.
A Zendesk ticket and a Sarrai conversation are roughly the same unit, close enough for a fair comparison. Zendesk amounts are in dollars, Sarrai amounts in euros.
Credit where it's due: for a very small team, Zendesk wins. Two agents on Support Team cost less together than Sarrai's entry plan. If little comes in and the AI doesn't get to resolve much, Zendesk is the cheaper choice.
That changes once two things happen: you put more people on the tool, and the AI starts resolving more conversations. Zendesk charges separately for both, so your bill grows with your team and with your success. Sarrai's fixed price stays put. Right when the AI starts doing its job well, the gap opens up.
Sarrai charges one fixed monthly price per plan, based on your conversation volume. That amount stays the same however many conversations come in and however much the AI resolves.
Pick the plan that fits your volume, and that's what you pay. A busy month costs the same as a quiet one; there's no meter running per conversation. If you outgrow your plan, you move up a tier or add a temporary bundle. You know your bill before the month starts.
The fixed monthly price per plan
It depends on your plan and your usage. The subscription runs from $19 per agent per month for Support Team to $115 for Suite Professional, billed annually. On top of that, you pay for every conversation the AI resolves above your allowance. A team of eight agents with 600 conversations a month lands around $740 per month, subscription and AI resolutions combined.
An automated resolution is a conversation the AI agent handles entirely on its own, without a person stepping in. Every plan includes an allowance: five per agent per month on Team, ten on Professional, fifteen on Enterprise. Above that, you pay around $1.50 per resolution with a committed volume, or around $2 without one. Zendesk doesn't publish these rates itself; they're the figures comparison sites report.
For many teams, yes. The starting price on the pricing page only covers the subscription per agent. The AI resolution fees come on top, and since January 2026 they're billed automatically once you go past your allowance. The more the AI resolves, the bigger that part of the bill.
For a very small team with light volume that barely uses the AI. One or two agents on an entry plan cost less than Sarrai's entry plan. Once you add people or let the AI handle more conversations, the balance tips toward Sarrai's fixed price.
Sarrai charges a fixed monthly price per plan, based on your conversation volume, with no fee per resolved conversation. So you know exactly what you'll pay each month. The price comparison on this site lets you put your own numbers side by side.
